Up for consideration is an original 1915 Award Medal from the PPIE Panama Pacific In’tL Exposition in its original button box of issue. A very RARE combination; however what sets this medal into another category of its own is the phenomenal condition. This is the absolute FINEST we have ever handled or seen for sale in decades. The bronze is virtually untouched and so well preserved that the red/brown mint bloom is blanketing the surfaces.
Most of these medals have been abused, mishandled, cleaned or damaged in some way. They are not all created equal. For somebody that wants the best – this is it – for the most advanced collector of PPIE memorabilia – a must have center piece to the collection!
This piece has never been offered to the collecting public and was saved by a descendant of a fair attendee in 1915 who procured it by having a winning exhibit of some kind.
